Little Steps, Big Dreams: Samira’s Story

Baghlan Province, Afghanistan
In Baghlan , Samira grew up without the chance to go to school. Her days were spent at home, helping her family, while she quietly wished she could learn like other children. That wish came true when she joined the Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) Community-Based Education (CBE) Class. Now, Samira is discovering the joy of learning and building a brighter future, one lesson at a time.

Little Steps, Big Dreams: Samira’s Story
For Samira, the CBE class was her very first experience of sitting at a desk, holding a pencil, and opening a book. At first, she was shy and unsure, but soon she began to enjoy every moment. She learned her alphabet, started writing her name, and proudly showed her family what she could do.

The classroom became a place of excitement, where every new word and number felt like a small victory.

Growing with Confidence

Growing with Confidence

Samira’s teachers encouraged her to ask questions, share her ideas, and help her classmates. Slowly, she began to believe in herself. She now raises her hand in class, reads aloud, and even helps younger children practice their letters.

Her confidence is growing every day, showing that education is not only about learning, it is about building courage and self‑belief in children.

Dreams of Tomorrow

Dreams of Tomorrow

Samira dreams of becoming a teacher when she grows up, so she can help other children in her village learn just like she is learning now. She imagines a future where every child in Baghlan has a chance to go to school, no matter where they live.

Her dreams go beyond herself, they are about giving back to her community and making education possible for all.

A Future Full of Hope

Her story shows that when children are given the chance to learn, they can grow into confident, hopeful individuals who will shape a brighter tomorrow for everyone
