A Decade of Delivery, Partnership & Results - Since its establishment in 2014, ACDO has developed into an experienced Afghan national organization delivering humanitarian, recovery and development programs across diverse and often complex operating environments in Afghanistan.
With over 10 years of operational experience, ACDO has implemented programs across multiple sectors and provinces, adapting its approaches to respond to emergencies, displacement, poverty, climate-related shocks, barriers to education and other evolving humanitarian and development needs. Our experience spans humanitarian response, education, child protection, WASH, nutrition, food security, livelihoods, agriculture, resilience and community infrastructure, allowing ACDO to deliver both sector-specific and integrated programs.
Across its portfolio, ACDO has reached more than 2.19 million people directly and through education, protection, livelihoods, food security, agriculture, WASH, nutrition and emergency response interventions. This cumulative reach reflects ACDO's ability to operate at scale while maintaining community-level engagement and program oversight across diverse geographic and operational contexts.
ACDO has developed a growing partnership portfolio with UN agencies, international and national organizations, development partners and pooled funds. Our partnership experience includes collaboration with organizations and funding mechanisms such as AHF, UNICEF, UNDP, WFP, UNESCO, AKF, SCI, NCA, and other international and partners. These partnerships have provided ACDO with experience in implementing programs under diverse donor requirements, technical standards, reporting frameworks and compliance arrangements.
ACDO has experience implementing donor-funded programs supported through major humanitarian and development financing mechanisms, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Education Cannot Wait (ECW), ECHO and the European Union, alongside other institutional and humanitarian funding partners. This experience has strengthened ACDO's capacity in grant management, financial accountability, procurement, program quality assurance, compliance, reporting, monitoring and risk management.
ACDO's track record extends beyond short-term humanitarian assistance. Our portfolio increasingly connects emergency response with recovery, resilience, livelihoods, education, climate adaptation, community infrastructure and longer-term development outcomes. This experience enables ACDO to work across the humanitarian-development continuum, adapting program approaches to the needs and capacities of communities as circumstances evolve.
ACDO measures its institutional strength not only by the volume of funding managed or people reached, but by the quality of partnerships, consistency of delivery, accountability to communities and responsible management of resources. Our continued engagement with UN agencies, donors, international organizations and development partners reflects the confidence placed in ACDO's local knowledge, operational capacity, technical expertise and commitment to accountable program delivery.
